Say hello and wave goodbye... and then say hello again because the Suke Quto washed Ethiopia is back, baby. Friedhats have had this coffee a few times now, it's a favorite that they buy again and again because of its consistently high quality. It is grown at 1800 - 2200 m above sea level and consists of the Kurume and Welicho varieties, its flavor profile is super lemony with some elderflower and jasmine notes.
Friedhats tries to participate as much as possible in transparent projects that aim to change the landscape for farmers. Tesfaye Bekele, a farmer and owner of the Suke Quto processing mill, is a member of the Trabocca blockchain - a system that tracks the flow of money from the purchase of the green beans directly into the hands of the farmers themselves at much fairer prices and higher rates.
Bekele's washing plant is located in Guji and collects coffee from 278 outgrowers in the region. All transactions and lots are fully traceable through this washing station, which you can see for yourself on the Trabocca website here .
