The Tekangu Farmers' Cooperative Society (FCS) is located in Nyeri in central Kenya. Nyeri lies on the slopes of Mount Kenya and, along with the neighboring region of Kirinyaga, is known for its intense, complex and flavorful coffees. The FCS consists mainly of small farms, each of which owns around 100 trees. They are organized into cooperatives that act as umbrella organizations for the factories to which small farmers deliver their coffee cherries for processing.
